Earners of this badge have completed a minimum of 4 hours as a mentor alongside a student/graduate mentee, as a part of the Careers Mentoring Programme. Mentors have worked in groups, 1-1 situations, and collaborated with events on and off campus to convey to their mentee the different career routes and inspire them to take their next steps as they choose.

Criteria
This activity takes months to complete. Earners access this activity for free.
- Earner has undergone optional mentor training, which enabled them to learn more about the programme and what will be expected from them throughout. This session enabled them to gain confidence in themselves and the programme, raise awareness and overcome the feeling of imposter syndrome.
- Earner has developed an understanding of self-awareness and has reflected upon their values, skills, knowledge, and personality for their own career and personal development. They have gained an understanding of how they can share these experiences with their mentee and workplace.
- Earner has volunteered their time to work with their mentee on goal setting, action planning, and creating and exploring opportunities for their future. They have undertaken research to determine the different career or education options available to their mentee, enabling the mentee to raise aspirations and improve employability.
- Earner has managed, adapted, and organised their time to meet the needs and requirements of their mentee, taking responsibility of the pairing to ensure the success of the programme.
- Earner has shown the ability to gain new perspectives and fresh ideas. They have captured an understanding of what their mentee is learning within their course, and what skills, knowledge, and experiences they have acquired during their time at university.
- Earner has networked and connected with others through attending Meet your mentor, 1:1 sessions and Networking events. Through this activity they have continued to develop their skills as a competent and confident professional, collaborating with others and developing their communication skills throughout.
